Test for soil particles wins Tempsand director of Ecological Innovations prestigious environmental award
The director of Tempsand has won the coveted Sunshine Coast Environment Council QR Sunshine Coast Environmental awards 2005 for Water Quality and Conservation. The award was granted for the outstanding work of monitoring of soil particles being transported in storm water. Test of the soil from storm water shows that the patented device from Ecological Innovations is able to capture up to 60% of soil particles in low flows and up to 40% soil particles in fast flows. The device is able to take up to the first 6 litres per second into the device and any extra flow passes over the top. Soil test show that this lower level of flow is the area that the heavier particles are transported in. This means the higher the flow the heavier the particles are trapped. The lower the flow the finer the particles are trapped.
